«Mare Fuori» - the fifth season starts on RAI

The Rai Uno series - Mare Fuori -  "the Sea beyond" is one of the most beloved series on RAI, featuring characters who have captured the audience's hearts. Mare Fuori premiered in 2020 and quickly became one of Italy's favorite shows. The series tells the poignant and gritty stories of young inmates at the fictional Juvenile Penal Institute of Naples, which is inspired by the Nisida prison.  The first six episodes of the fifth season were released on Rai Uno on March 12, with the remaining episodes set to debut on March 26. This season introduces a partially renewed cast. Over the years, some characters have exited the story, while new characters have been introduced.

The new season of Mare Fuori introduces several new characters. Federico (Francesco Di Tullio) and Samuele (Francesco Luciani) are two inmates from Milan, and from the outset, they develop a conflictual relationship with the other inmates at the IPM. Tommaso (Manuele Velo) is serving his sentence for a grave crime motivated by a desire for revenge after experiencing severe trauma and loss. His actions, however, do not impact Rosa Ricci.

Rosa's story intertwines with that of Simone (Alfonso Capuozzo), who has a specific mission to accomplish within the juvenile prison. Among the new characters are two inmates with a complex relationship: Marta (Rebecca Mogavero), who is both beautiful and manipulative, and Sonia (Elisa Tonelli). Their bond becomes strained when one of them begins to develop feelings for one of the boys.

One of the most iconic characters in Mare Fuori is Pinuccio O’ Pazzo, played by Artem, who is also featured in the new episodes of the series. The young prisoner will continue to share his fate with his cellmate Cardiotrap, portrayed by Domenico Cuomo, who has been a part of the show since its debut.  Silvia Sacco, played by Clotilde Esposito, has found herself behind bars once again after a brief period of freedom. Rosa Ricci, portrayed by Maria Esposito, has chosen to abandon her dream of a life outside the IPM with Carmine Di Salvo to pursue her plan for revenge within the juvenile prison. Among the other young inmates are Micciarella (Giuseppe Pirozzi), Cucciolo (Francesco Panarella), Dobbermann (Enrico Tijani), Milos (Antonio D’Aquino), and Mimmo (Alessandro Orrei). As for the facility's staff, the inmates will continue to interact with the tough yet caring Commander Massimo Esposito (Carmine Recano), the enthusiastic educator Beppe (Vincenzo Ferrara), and the complex director Sofia Durante (Lucrezia Guidone).
