Prada is celebrating Valentine's Day with a special range of items for both men and women, featuring the imaginative and light-hearted spirit of Los Angeles-based artist and illustrator Jamie Lee Reardin. The collection includes playful themes such as lips ready for kisses, beating hearts, leaping fish, and love-struck whales. These motifs adorn nylon shopping bags, Saffiano leather accessories, and plush Nappa leather goods, predominantly in black and red. Reardin has created original animations that highlight these fun designs. Inspired by the collection and the models from the Spring/Summer 2019 campaign, the artist has crafted a whimsical world populated with sophisticated characters. The collection features tote bags decorated with kisses and iconic mouth and heart shapes for women, as well as wallets and stylish keyrings for men, all brought to life through a series of amusing and surreal stories. The Valentine’s Day products, along with a wide range of other items, are now available online and in Prada stores.

Preparation:
For the Pasta: Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta 6-7 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside. For the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until melted. Add flour, whisking continuously to form a blonde roux. Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Simmer until thickened, approximately 1 minute, then add cheese until melted. Season the sauce with nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, Kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Taste for seasoning. Adjust as needed, and keep warm over low heat. For the vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, and saute until fragrant & softened, roughly 2 minutes, stirring to ensure garlic does not burn. Add remaining ingredients and cook until softened and tomatoes begin to blister. Season with kosher salt & cracked black pepper. For the Basil Oil: Combine fresh basil & extra virgin olive oil in a blender. Blend until smooth. Strain mix through a sieve and cheesecloth to extra oil. Set aside. Combine & Plate: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour over sauce and toss gently to coat. Transfer 6oz of the mixture to dinner plates. Garnish with 1tsp basil oil, 1/2tbsp cheese, and 2-3 torn basil leaves.
