Designer Panettone

However, in recent years, panettone has received an artisanal makeover, accompanied by a corresponding increase in price. Renowned designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gucci now offer elaborately packaged panettone, as do fashionable restaurants. These high-end versions can cost close to $60 or even exceed $100 each. The Gucci Osteria Traditional 20024 Panettone is already sold out.

The Moschino Collezione 0 panettone is a limited edition product resulting from the collaboration between the patisserie of Martesana, a well-known Milanese brand, and the Moschino fashion house. It represents tradition through its artisanal preparation and features packaging designed by Moschino's creative director, Adrian Appiolaza.

For five years, Fornasetti has selected Davide Longoni to merge artistry and mastery in bread-making. Utilizing stone-ground flours and sourdough, each ingredient is meticulously chosen to combine creativity, research, and experimentation. Traditional ingredients such as raisins, candied orange, and citron peel are complemented by saffron, which is added to the mixture in pistil form. The exclusive cylindrical box, crafted with decorated embossed paper, showcases some of the most renowned themes of the Milanese Atelier. The circumference features the "Pompeiana" decoration created by Piero Fornasetti in 1951. The lid of the package highlights "Il Re Sole," an anthropomorphic sun designed by Piero Fornasetti for a tray in the 1950s, which majestically illuminates every festive table.

 

 


The classic Milanese panettone Armani Dolci by Guido Gobino is available in three chocolate variants: apricot and white chocolate, or entirely covered in chocolate. This unique and bold reinterpretation of the traditional Christmas leavened cake is crafted with sourdough, free from preservatives or artificial flavours, and involves an extended process and an additional kneading phase. Available in a one-kilogram format, this panettone honors tradition with candied orange, sultanas, and Bourbon vanilla specks. Its distinctive presentation is enhanced by the exclusive Ray of Gold print by Cavalli, which adorns the elegant tin packaging.


The Etro e Aimo e Nadia Milano panettone, prepared by Fabio Pisani and Alessandro Negrini of the restaurant «Il Luogo Aimo e Nadia», is made following the chefs' usual methods. For the production of the panettone, flours from selected mills in Basilicata were used, along with a 72-hour leavening process that contributes to its softness and subtle crunchiness. The packaging features patterns from the Etro maison, with blue and gold colors for the panettone box and magenta and pink on a gold background for the pandoro box.

The collaboration between the creativity of Dolce&Gabbana and the confectionery artistry of Fiasconaro results in a unique recipe: the typical Milanese panettone, revisited with the flavours of Sicily. The shared ingredients of this extraordinary union between North and South are respect for tradition, the courage to experiment, the quest for perfection and the pursuit of beauty.
