The big brands that are specifically targeting luxury tourism are investing heavily in the city, with ambitious and expensive projects. Luxury brands are increasingly turning their attention towards Palermo and Naples, particularly in the hospitality sector. Naples is experiencing a significant growth in tourism, which is driving changes in the hotel industry. The Palazzo Caravita di Sirignano is a historic building that was built in 1535 and has been home to several noble dynasties, including the Bourbons and Princes of Sirignano. The restoration of the building has been entrusted to globally acclaimed architect Michele Bönan, known for his work in designing prestigious hotels and residences. The Colella family, who owns fashion brands Gutteridge and Alcott, acquired the property in 2018, and CEO Nunzio Colella has expressed his ambition to provide Naples with a hotel experience that matches the city's charm. Other brands are also planning to open hotels in Naples. Marriott is set to open a W Hotel in a former bank, with almost 80 rooms and suites. The Radisson is also planning a hotel inside the former headquarters of Il Mattino newspaper on Via Chiatamone. However, these are all projects that are currently uncertain, except for Rocco Forte Hotels.

Sir Rocco Forte, along with his family, already owns properties in Rome, Florence, Sicily, and Puglia. They plan to expand their presence in Italy by focusing on Naples, particularly Palazzo Caravita di Sirignano a Chiaia, a 16th-century noble structure. In 2018, the building was auctioned for 16.5 million euros to entrepreneurs Nunzio and Anna Colella, who own the fashion brands Gutteridge and Alcott. They signed an agreement with Rocco Forte to renovate the structure for 60 million euros, which will include 46 suites, a panoramic swimming pool terrace, two restaurants, and a spa. The project has a total surface area of approximately 15,000m², with 7,000m² of commercial space, and will be developed on four floors, three mezzanine floors, a basement, and an external area of around 2,300m². The renowned chef consultant for Rocco Forte's Italian restaurants, Fulvio Pierangelini, will oversee the two restaurants. The opening of the renovated Palazzo Caravita di Sirignano a Chiaia is expected in 2027, but the date may change.
